Creobroter Gemmatus, The Indian Flower Mantis from Java. Female. More colorful than the male. Wings contain varying amounts of pink.
Flower Mantises are those species of Praying Mantises that mimic flowers. Their coloration is an example of aggressive mimicry, a form of camouflage in which a predator's colours and patterns lure prey.
Your Mantis will look a bit different, as is one of Nature's charms. And she will be a bit taller or shorter than 2" tall for that very same reason. The frame and base make this piece 4" high × 3.75" wide.
Each specimen is carefully placed in the sort of plastic frame you see here. Thanks to the clear plastic film, you can appreciate the front and back of your Flower Mantis. If your Mantis shifts a bit during shipping, simply open the frame, readjust, close and set back in the included base.
Display away from sunlight. You don't want your lovely treasure to fade.
This ethically-acquired Mantis died of natural causes. Sourced from conservation projects that support local communities and protect habitats.
