The art of intaglio engraving is a highly skilled craft that dates back 5,000 years to Mesopotamia. The earliest motifs were of mythological figures, hieroglyphics, animals and portraits of rulers. It's because of this same process that we have signet rings and wax seals.
The glass Intaglio cabochons I used to create these necklaces were made in Europe 70+ years ago. I chose settings with open backs so the carved details can be seen.
Each pendant is unique. Includes a generous length of soft, black deerskin suede lacing so that you can wear this work of Magical Art as you like.
